ABOUT US…

We love living in the Little Egg Harbor Township and Tuckerton area of New Jersey. One of the challenges of living in a small town is having to drive away from our beloved town for so many things.

In 2017, we decided that it was time for Southern Ocean County to have their very own CrossFit Box! We are less than 10 minutes away from Manahawkin and New Gretna.

… WE WANT to help you and your family live a healthier and more energetic lifestyle. This lifestyle starts with exercise and an understanding of how nutrition works. Our knowledgeable staff is here to get you motivated and keep you accountable.

Our training is not a 30-day quick fix. Instead, we would like to help you find a sustainable change by joining a community of like minded people. We believe that we are the right place for you.

“Family, work, and life’s problems kept me from exercising on a regular basis. When I did try to workout, it felt like I had no direction. I would wander around the gym, trying to figure out where to begin. I knew there had to be a better way. In 2010, I found CrossFit and never looked back.

Now, I get to share my knowledge with you.” – Coach Bob

COACH BOB

Head Coach Bob is a Certified CrossFit Trainer Level 3 with specialty certifications in CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Weightlifting, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Masters, CrossFit Scaling, CrossFit Judging 2013 – 2019 and Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Coach Bob has been training CrossFit athletes since 2012 and has been the Head Trainer and owner of Clamtown CrossFit since 2017.

He is married with three young children who are all up-and-coming CrossFit students!

Coach Bob is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Operation Desert Storm. He has lived in Little Egg Harbor Township for 19 years.

In addition to being the Clamtown Chief of Staff who programs the daily WODs and coaches classes, Bob stays heavily active as a Clamtown member as well. He never shies away from any challenge in the box and always strives to improve himself. Coach Bob loves competing in local CrossFit competitions with athletes from his box.

“There is always something new to learn and share with others.”

COACH CINDY

Coach Cindy joined Clamtown CrossFit after watching her husband Pete’s transformation. All it took was two classes and she was hooked. It wasn’t long until Cindy knew she wanted to become a coach and help others the way her coaches had helped her so far. Coach Cindy is now a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and has completed the CrossFit Judging Course, but will always be a student as much as a teacher.

When it comes to favorite exercises, Coach Cindy can’t narrow it down to just one. The chipper WODs are her favorite because they incorporate many different exercises into each workout.

Coach Cindy enjoys seeing the little stars show up next to her name when she gets a personal best, but it’s even more exciting to see other athletes’ faces light up when those stars appear next to their names.

Besides trying to master muscle ups at the box, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids compete in their respective sports, cooking healthy foods, and smiling. Smiling’s her favorite.

“I have had my share of personal victories (and setbacks) since I started CrossFit but the most significant to me was returning from a serious injury. I had surgery in late 2015 to repair my right shoulder, and given my age and the amount of damage I was not given good odds for returning to my former level of activity. The following year of recovery and rehab meant essentially starting from scratch in just about every part of my fitness. At times it seemed insurmountable and just about hopeless. But I stuck with it and in early 2017 came back to place in the top 200 in the world in my age division during the CrossFit Open, and top 100 in the CrossFit Games Qualifier that followed.”

COACH ron

Coach Ron is a Level 2 CrossFit trainer with several additional courses under his belt including CrossFit Weightlifting Course, CrossFit Masters, CrossFit Gymnastics course, CrossFit Scaling course, CrossFit Lesson Planning course, Spot the Flaw course, CrossFit Judging Course 2015 through 2019, and Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification. When attending Ron’s classes, it becomes immediately apparent how much he loves the sport. Ron specializes in teaching the correct form for each of the CrossFit movements so everyone who participates can successfully progress at their own pace.

Ron has been part of the CrossFit community since 2014. He started after having trained in Olympic weightlifting for years. After attending an open house at his local CrossFit box, he decided to give it a try and fell in love with the sport. In fact, he has professed that he actually doesn’t mind burpees, but he may or may not die a little inside when he sees wallballs or running on the whiteboard.

He lives on Long Beach Island with his wife Stephanie and their two super cool dachshunds. When he isn’t coaching, Coach Ron periodically competes in different CrossFit challenges including the most recent Triad Challenge in Manasquan. He is always preparing for the next feat.

COACH SARA

Coach Sara is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer living in Little Egg Harbor with her husband, Coach Mark, and their six awesome kids. Sara may be new to the CrossFit community, but she has enjoyed group fitness her entire adult life. She enjoys being active and including her family in all her fitness endeavors like running 5ks and doing CrossFit family events.

When Coach Sara isn’t trying to take over the world, she can sometimes be found on the local community theatre stage alongside her kids.

COACH MARK

If you are ever looking for Coach Mark, chances are you can find him at the gym – either coaching, working out, or manning the business end of Clamtown. When you call for information, Mark is our go-to guy who will answer all your questions and get you started on a program right for you.

As a Level 1 CrossFit trainer with specialty certifications in CrossFit Strongman and CrossFit Anatomy, Mark runs his classes with a smile and great tips for everyone regardless of their fitness level. Mark is also a Level 3 Nutrition Expert and a Prestige Labs supplement expert for men, women, elderly, and athletes.

Mark is married to Coach Sara and together they are parents of six awesome children. With such an active family, retaining good fitness is essential. Coach Mark hasn’t always been active, but starting CrossFit in 2014 has been a game changer for him. He has seen tremendous fitness gains ever since. He never lets any program run through Clamtown without trying it out himself first.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys quality time with his family either at home or traveling.

Coach Heidi enjoys competing and completed her first competition with Coach Bob in 2018 where they took Second Place.

COACH HEIDI

Coach Heidi has been a CrossFit athlete since 2012. She is a Level 1 trainer, certified in Red Cross CPR/AED, and has completed the 2019 CrossFit Judging Course.

Coach Heidi’s favorite exercise is the Deadlift, but her favorite WOD is the Murph (1 mile run, 100 pullups, 200 situps, 300 squats, 1 mile run).

Watching all the new Challenge groups prove to themselves that they can achieve their goals and working with them to help them get there is Heidi’s favorite part about coaching.

In her off time, Heidi loves spending time with her granddaughter, paddleboarding, and biking.

“My goal as a Coach is to help people who have disabilities, anxiety, and pain; better their lives through CrossFit.”

COACH tracy

Coach Tracey has been part of the Clamtown CrossFit Community since the beginning. After breaking her neck in 2006 and losing most of her cervical vertebrae, she felt as if she would never be able to be the athlete she wanted to be. She also had a lot of anxiety and pain daily. Completing a century bike ride one day was always on her bucket list, but seemed impossible with her physical disability. When she walked into Clamtown she instantly felt like she was home.

“The Coaches made me feel comfortable; I was supported by the community. Being disabled didn’t mean I couldn’t be an athlete.”

Since walking in the box she has completed her bucket list item by riding a century ride, the Foster 100 (a 100 mile bike ride to benefit an organization providing service dogs for veterans.) She has also found that daily tasks are easier and her level of pain and anxiety has decreased.

Coach Tracey has her CrossFit Level 1 and has completed the CrossFit Scaling course, CrossFit Anatomy course and the CrossFit Judges course. Her favorite exercise is the deadlift. She loves dogs of all kinds, especially service dogs and her own Malinois, Murphy. In fact, her perfect day would include deadlifting and petting puppies.
